CONTEXT
Phase 1 of the implementation of public transit service in the Acadian Peninsula will begin in November 2022. This phase, lasting approximately 34 weeks, is important for the validation and feasibility of the schedule at collection points, the deployment of the online reservation system and geolocation, as well as to maximize success during the deployment of the full service.
PRICING
It should be noted that during phase 1 of the project only, the service will be offered free of charge to users. Therefore, when implementing the full service, users will have the option of purchasing a regular ticket, a booklet of 10 tickets or a monthly pass.
SCHEDULE AND ROUTE
This first trip will be made using a 24-passenger bus on a fixed schedule from Monday to Friday, between 6:42 a.m. and 6:58 p.m. This schedule offers users the opportunity to join 5 round trips, including several pick-up points between Caraquet, Village Blanchard, Pokemouche, Inkerman, Inkerman Ferry, up to Shippagan. The first morning departure takes place at the Salon de Quille au 300 in Caraquet at 6:42 a.m. to arrive at 7:52 a.m. at UNI Financial Cooperation in Shippagan, via the points listed above.
RESERVATION
Users can reserve their place either online at ride.blaisetransit.com or by telephone by dialing (506) 616-1616, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. It is important to note that users must reserve their place at least 2 hours in advance.
USERS
This phase of the project is open to the public, to students from the Université de Moncton campus in Shippagan as well as those from the Collège Communautaire du N.-B., who volunteered for the project.
